Among the product lines of the Geely brand, the Boyue models have gained considerable market influence in the Chinese auto market, with a cumulative sales performance of more than 1.4 million vehicles, which fully reflects the degree of consumer recognition of the car series. As the latest model of the car series, the Boyue L was officially unveiled on August 5 this year, further enhancing the manufacturer’s influence in the compact SUV segment and providing a new choice for Chinese car consumers. The new car is designed with the Vision Starburst concept car as the prototype and built on the CMA architecture. Compared with the current Boyue model, it is significantly improved in all aspects.
In terms of body size, Boyue L is positioned as a compact SUV, with a length, width, and height of 4670×1900×1705mm and a wheelbase of 2777mm. The size of the new car is slightly inferior to that of the Xingyue L (4770*1895*1689mm, wheelbase 2845mm), but it still has a certain degree of competitiveness in the current compact SUV market segment. Coupled with the long wheelbase and short front and rear overhangs, the new car still has plenty of interior space.
In terms of appearance, the overall shape of the Boyue L inherits the design concept of the Vision Starburst concept car, with a strong sense of fashion and technology. The light wave rippling front grille combined with the particle ray light strip running through the front face and the new flat LOGO embedded in it creates a wider visual effect and a good trendy sci-fi feeling.
On the side of the body, Boyue L adopts a prominent three-layer waistline design, the uppermost waistline creates a good visual impact; the middle waistline highlights the solemn texture; the bottom three-dimensional fold line further highlights the power of the new car sense.
The rear line is sharp and angular, echoing the front and rear of the car, obtaining a good overall sense. The spoiler on the roof and the LED high-mounted brake lights inside, together with the sharp taillights at both ends, give the new car a better sporty atmosphere and recognition.
In terms of interior, the cockpit of Boyue L has not been fully disclosed. According to some information currently available, the new car comes standard with Qualcomm 8155 digital cockpit, 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel + 25.6-inch AR-HUD display system + 13.2-inch vertical center Controlling the big screen creates a pretty good sense of technology for the new car, and it also has certain combat effectiveness compared with the new power brand cars that are rampant on the big screen.
In terms of power, the Boyue L will launch a hybrid version equipped with the Raytheon Hi·X gasoline-electric hybrid system, including a 1.5T gasoline-electric hybrid and 1.5T plug-in hybrid. The maximum output power of the engine is 133kW and the peak torque is 290N·m; the total output power of the drive motor is 100kW and the peak torque is 320N·m. Among them, the plug-in hybrid model NEDC has a combined maximum cruising range of 1,300 kilometers and comprehensive fuel consumption of 4.2L/100km per 100 kilometers. The good economic performance is good news for consumers suffering from high oil prices.
Thanks to the good reputation of the Boyue model over the years, Boyue L has gained a lot of market attention since its birth. At the same time, the new car has a more fashionable, sci-fi appearance and the power empowerment of the Raytheon Hi·X intelligent hybrid platform, which is attractive to young consumers who are pursuing trendy visual enjoyment. On the other hand, compared with a lot of powerful competitors, Boyue L’s comprehensive strength can not be called peace of mind. Whether the new car can break through the siege and contribute its due strength to the continued rise of the brand, we have to wait and see!
